The City of Pearls in Republic of India

Hyderabad is a city which is a capital of Andhra Pradesh, a state of India. It is also denoted by the name of “The City of Pearls”. It is the largest city in Andhra Pradesh and listed on the sixth position in India. The founder of the city was Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in 1591. It is situated on the banks of River Musi. Due to its size, population, developed priorities this city is declared as a standard city. It is also called as the Home of Telugu Film Industry.

It is the city laced with architectural gems, ornate tombs, mosques, palaces and homes. The history of this city is very interesting. The Mughal emperor Aurangzeb captured the city in 1687. In 1724, Asaf Jah I, who was decided a title Nizam-ul-Mulk, which is also called as Governor of the country conquered an enemy administrator to establish control over Hyderabad.  It is also said that Hyderabad owes its existence to a water shortage at Golconda in the late 16th century.

The new city of Hyderabad was recognized with the brand new Charminar as its centre piece. In 1724, the Hyderabad viceroy, Asaf Jah, took advantage of weakening of Mughal power and acknowledged the city as an independent state with himself as a leader. The dynasty of the nizams of Hyderabad began and the traditions of the Islam flourished. The city became a focus for the arts, culture and learning and the centre of Islamic India.

What to See
In Hyderabad, there are many places to visit and enjoy. Charminar and Bazaars were built by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah in 1591 and become a principal landmark of Hyderabad. It is the dramatic four column structure with the dimensions of 56m high and 30m wide having four arches facing the cardinal points. West of the Charminar, there is the most crowded place known by Laad bazaar. It is the market where anyone can be lost. It is the market containing fine perfumes, fabrics, jewels and all the useful items.

Salar Jung Museum: it is the museum of the huge collection of 1st century, which was put by Mir Yusuf Ali Khan, the grand vizier of the seventh nizam. There are a huge collection of sculptures, wood carvings, devotional objects, Persian Miniature paintings, illustrated manuscripts and many more to see.

Golconda Fort: In 17th century, Mughal armies from Delhi were sent to the Golconda kingdom to enforce payment of tribute. Abul Hasan, last of the Qutb kings held out at Golconda for eight months against Emperor Aurangzeb’s massive army.

How to Reach:
It is the city holding all the means of Transport like airways. Hyderabad has newly built a Rajiv Gandhi Airport which is situated on the south west of the city in Shamshabad. There are many flights going and coming to Hyderabad. There are many national and international flights to Hyderabad. Cheap air tickets are also easily available on many online travel websites. By railhead, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and kacheguda are the major train stations. Most of the trains stop at Secunderabad and kacheguda, which is convenient for Abids. By roadways, the major bus stands are Mahatma Gandhi bus station, Jubilee bus station. There are many Volvo buses running in this route.
